Your needs
The approach of The Use Factory is adapted according to the type of client.
While the core expertise is consistent, the project structure and collaborative dynamics differ significantly.

Industrial stakeholders in the healthcare sector
Throughout the creation and development process of your healthcare devices, The Use Factory adapts to your needs and offers its operational expertise.

By its very nature, an industrial company is a combination of talents, with each person bringing their own expertise to the project.
This often leads to misunderstandings and even tensions, as each party uses its expertise to convince the other and influence the decision!
However, to manage an innovation project successfully, it is not a question of convincing others, but of making decisions that are informed by all the parameters of the project: use, design, project management, market, quality, regulations, patents, industry, etc.
At The Use Factory we have chosen, and continue to choose every day, the challenge of transdisciplinarity: ensuring that everyone in the company integrates all aspects of the project as effectively as possible. So every decision is guided by a 360° vision of the project manager, shared with the Project Director and in dialogue with the whole project team.
This methodological choice is very demanding and requires a significant investment in training and the sharing of experience within The Use Factory, but it is a major asset for the creation and management of innovative projects:
– When we are involved in the entire project, cross-disciplinarity is an important asset, because even if the object of the work is design, it is by establishing links with all the marketing, legal and industrial parameters, that the project matures and gains in coherence. The first consequence of this way of working is to drastically limit setbacks and failures. In addition: development time and cost are optimised.
– For more specific assignments, at the start of a project (e.g. ‘observation, analysis and creativity’) or at the end of a project (e.g. ‘prototyping and usability testing’), the cross-disciplinary vision is an accelerator and a guarantee of the quality and depth of the deliverable. In fact, in innovation, no part of the project can be reduced to the execution of a task: putting the request into its overall context is the key to moving the project forward and satisfying more than just the customer’s expectations.
‘It would be ideal if all our partners could offer such a high level of collaboration. ’

‘Designers and ergonomists who listen to users, identify their difficulties and come up with concrete, creative solutions that are tested and validated in the field.’

‘A team that's close to its customers, that listens, is available and able to bounce back from the unexpected. Their strong ergonomic skills enabled us to translate our needs into a truly innovative product. ’

Startups
The Use Factory brings you its cross-disciplinary expertise and is involved in the successful completion of your project, from the early observations until the industrialisation. We also bring you an extensive network of partners and experts.

The Use Factory’s role is to help you with the mechanical and design aspects of the product, so that you end up with a device that offers the best use with the best appearance.
For an innovative product, this is a major challenge, because we need to study the patient/carer benefit in order to ‘invent and design the use’ and the promises of the product, but also ‘zoom out’ to study the project’s capacity to be adopted and integrated into care routines.
This global vision of usage also leads us to explore other issues:
– regulatory aspects, since any claim of use will have regulatory implications,
– the marketing aspects since it will ultimately be a question of creating a context to convince buyers (distribution, pricing, marketing stages, communication prospects, etc.)
– patents, because they will influence the whole project by creating a more or less extensive and more or less reliable monopoly situation.
Finally, ‘inventing and designing for use’ also involves liaising with the other parties involved in the project to ensure rapid progress towards the market and smooth industrialisation: electronic design and its integration into mechanical engineering, industrial subcontracting, setting up industrialisation.
For The Use Factory, this means working alongside you to ensure that the product is consistent in every respect. That’s why our customers see us at the heart of the start-up adventure, not as subcontractors but as partners in the project.
‘Thanks to The Use Factory's expertise in ergonomics and design, we've been able to develop an integrated system that revolutionises the way player data is collected and analysed.’

Innovation healthcare professionals
Your daily practice in the healthcare sector is ideal for identifying the need for innovation. With The Use Factory, you can see your project through from idea to market!

In your day-to-day work with patients or sportspeople, you see the difficulties and the opportunities to do things better: to treat, relieve or energise the body better.
These opportunities are potentially inventions that can benefit patients and other professionals.. To do this, you have to follow a whole course in a field of expertise that is not your own… which is enough to worry you and often make you give up before you’ve tried!
At The Use Factory we can work together on your project: validating it very gradually, bringing it to life with technical solutions and making it perfectly suited to your needs through ‘form & materials’ design work.
Our specialisation in the medical, sports and health sectors means that we can enter into an in-depth dialogue with you to strengthen your project and bring it to fruition together. Admittedly, it’s a challenge that requires real effort, but the road ahead is always exciting and the result you’re aiming for provides the energy to succeed!
‘A team that stands out for its friendliness, professionalism and seriousness, offering quality support at every stage of the project.’

‘The Use Factory gave my idea its full dimension and its clinical and commercial potential’.
