The project : Create a miniaturized laboratory capable of analyzing urine to assist in the diagnosis and early detection of pathologies.

Our mission : Contribute to the invention of the use of this innovative device and translate it into a technical reality.

The Use Factory worked with USENSE from the initial Proof of Concept developed through their research efforts. By analyzing the context in both laboratory and hospital environments, we collaboratively defined the product’s usage, resulting in a device that fits easily into the daily workflow of healthcare staff. The next challenge was to establish an ergonomic design that satisfied the usage goal while meeting essential technical and mechanical requirements (optical quality, mechanical durability, sealing, cleanability, etc.).

Understanding the usage

The visits to laboratories and hospital departments allowed us to observe the environment, the handling processes, the products and devices currently in use, and gain an understanding of the context in which urine is processed.

Analysis and Ideation

Through a thorough analysis and interpretation of the interviews and observations, we were able to define the usage hypotheses for the new device.

Prototyping and Demonstrator

The study of the first iteration of the device was carried out, including an initial version of the electronics and considering the technical and mechanical issues.

Testing and Feasibility Study for Industrialization

The testing of first-generation prototypes and the technical and technological enhancements were used to develop the industrial version.
